Job Description

QualificationMinimum bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
ExperienceMinimum 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying or a related construction cost management role.
RequirementsStrong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and project management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Proficiency in quantity surveying.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering labour, materials, equipment, and other relevant expenses.Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contracts, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client requirements.Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine material and labour requirements.Track project budgets and expenditures, ensuring costs remain within the allocated budget and reporting any variances.Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, assess completed work, and prepare valuations for interim payments.Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best pricing and terms.Prepare financial reports, including cost analysis, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.Assess project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate financial risks and potential overruns.Conduct post-project evaluations, analysing the cost performance and identifying areas for improvement.Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and contractual obligations.
